The Old & New city

          of Jaffa

Come and get to know one of the most ancient cities in the world, and how it works as a modern city today.

A tour of the Old city of Jaffa can take between 2-5 hours, and can be done as a half day tour,.

Another option is a full day tour, combining Jaffa with a tour of Neve Zedek and the beginning of Tel Aviv, or a culinary tour of the market.

Visit Jaffa, possibly the world’s oldest port city. Jaffa is mentioned four times in the Hebrew Bible. The Ancient Greeks were here too, as were the Romans. This is also where St. Peter was visited by the angel Gabriel as he slept on the roof of Simon the Tanner’s house. Christian and Jewish pilgrims have come through Jaffa for generations and so did Napoleon in 1799.

Today, Jaffa is a mixed Israeli Arab Christian, Arab Muslim and Jewish city and is part of the Tel Aviv - Jaffa municipality.  Gentrification is making the city a vibrant and hip place and today it boasts some of Israel’s best galleries, shops, bars & restaurants.

We will visit the old port, get to know the local Graffiti artists, see the ancient part of Jaffa, visit St. Peter’s church and a few local galleries. We will finish the tour of the Old City in the Local market where I’ll recommend a few local must-try foods.
